I wouldn′t say I am a pro but I can offer you some advise. Make a budget for playing money and your normal account. Be strict with yourself, don′t mix the two. Play as many small games as you can, sitting at home with your buddies play till the crack of dawn with beer is all well and good for starters, but to improve is to play superior people and therefore usually means losing. The question is how much is worth losing if you are wisely inwardly digesting your worthy opponent?
To be good at anything means you have to invest time and money. If you lose you monthly budget in a a few days then you’ve to spend the rest of that month learning what cards to play and what not. You will always have your way of playing…This is what will differentiate yourself with others at a higher level. There’s a lot of luck involved in poker, luck and calculated risks. Got to be good at numbers. Work you way up the small tournaments, sit tight, learn by watching others game rather than play many hands. when you start turning your budget into a second income, then work your way up the ladder, higher stakes, superior players… keep to your game…be disciplined and as for earning a year…how long is a piece of string??
